In November 2009, Council launched the HIP initiative, a regular 24-page booklet of hobbies, interests and passions for those over 50. The booklet provides a comprehensive look at everything that Rotorua has to offer for those in that age range who are wanting to take a more active part in our community.

Demand by clubs, groups and event organisers has seen the publication grow to 28 pages by its fifth edition and then attain its current 36-page format five years ago.

HIP has just celebrated its ten years and 21st edition at a morning tea at Parksyde Community Centre, attended by supporters, organisers and Councillor Merepeka Raukawa-Tait.

The HIP team would like to thank all the readers and submitters over the years, who have allowed the booklet to reach this milestone.

Hard copies of HIP are available from various outlets around the city including the Council's Customer Centre. It is also available online at; www.rotorualakescouncil.nz/our-city/whats-on/over50s/Pages/default.aspx
