Thank you to everyone who has so far provided online and written feedback and have attended public sessions to have their input into Rotorua Lakes Council's 2019/20 Annual Plan.

Public feedback closes this Friday (17 May) so there are only a few days left if you want to have a say.

The 2019/20 annual plan reflects Council’s ongoing commitment to the direction set in the 2018-28 Long-term Plan and feedback is sought on the future operation and management of wastewater services. At this time we are asking if the community supports, in principle, a proposal relating to the future delivery of wastewater services and there will be further public consultation if this progresses.

Links to information about the Annual Plan including ways to provide feedback are available HERE on Council’s website or go directly to Let’s Talk/Korero Mai.

Connecting vision to action

The annual plan is the link between Council's Long-term Plan and the annual setting of rates. It details the annual budget and any changes/differences to what is in the Long-term Plan (LTP).

Elected member annual plan workshops held earlier this year concluded that the set direction has not changed – there is commitment to the delivery of the 2018-28 Long-term Plan (LTP).

Council faces a number of key challenges including sourcing of external funding; ongoing commitment to engagement and partnering; condition of assets (including what we don’t know); resource consenting and these challenges have impacted on delivery, mainly relating to timing of some of the large capital projects.

The 2018-28 LTP was adopted in June 2018 following consultation and engagement with the community. It sets out work programmes and projects to be delivered across the 10 years of the plan and connects the district’s 2030 vision to action, investing in work programmes and projects for the benefit of our community now, and for the future.

The 2019/20 financial year, which starts 1 July, is Year 2 of the 2018-28 LTP.

You can view the LTP HERE on Council’s website
