The Rotorua CBD Alcohol Accord is a practical way of dealing with day-to-day issues in the central business district. The accord was established in 2007. All owners and managers of licensed bars, cafes and restaurants in the central city area are welcome to attend meetings.
What is an accord?
An accord is a group of local licensees, the Police, district licensing agency officers, public health representatives, council representatives and relevant agencies who meet regularly to hear the latest industry information and talk through current issues.
Alcohol accords do not restrict business. In fact, research has shown that accords are good for business. They can create a safe and welcoming image that leads to favourable word of mouth reports and more repeat customers.
